Pastor Melanie Martin-Dent’s Story

In this episode of My story of Addiction & Grace Pastor Melanie Martin-Dent shares her journey of addiction & recovery. Pastor Mary Melanie is the solo pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in, Polson, Montana, where she lives with her husband pastor and her horses. Pastor Melanie is a founding member of the Fellowship of Recovering Lutheran Clergy (FRLC) which formed more than 30 years ago to help clergy struggling with addiction. She shares her story with the Center of Addiction & Faith on Zoom from Montana.

Addiction takes many forms and knows no boundaries. Anyone is susceptible to this cunning baffling and powerful disease, even clergy. In fact, clergy are more susceptible than average because of the nature of their work. In this podcast you will hear the personal testimonies of clergy who were caught in the hell of addiction and by the grace of God found a way out.
